Dawn Chorus
Redwood Dawn Chorus 5/22/22
00:00 / 01:35

Strongly consider listening with headphones:)

If you live near a redwood forest, this is what you're missing every morning from now and into July.....at 5:30am.  If you don't live in or near some redwoods, you still have a dawn chorus, but with a different set of birds!  Pop outside at 5:15am and check it out!

Most of the sounds are coming from Swainson's and Varied Thrushes, along with Wilson's Warblers.  The other standouts are a background Junco low trill, and a Song Sparrow keeping cadence.

One of these days I'll add WHY ornithologists think that birds start their days going crazy.

Email me your own dawn chorus with date, location, habitat, and time, and I'll post it here!  Even the "voice memos" app on your phone will work fine!
